Ovrkast. is a songwriter, producer, and lyricist from East Oakland, CA. Rooted in the Bay Area’s eclectic creative landscape, he brings a distinct, ethereal approach to rap, blending airy production with a laid-back delivery. He has quietly emerged as one of the most vital voices in alt hip-hop, seamlessly blurring the line between producer and rapper with intention and ease.
Kast introduced his solo work with the album Try Again in 2020, followed by a deluxe edition in 2021. In the years since, he’s continued to build a thoughtful and evolving catalog, releasing RESET! in 2023 and KAST GOT WINGS—a collaborative tape with Grammy-winning producer Cardo—in 2024. These projects set the stage for While The Iron Is Hot, a conceptual turning point in his artistry, marked by a run of standout singles including “Small Talk” featuring Samara Cyn.
Ovrkast.’s dual role as both producer and artist extends beyond his own releases. His production credits include work for Drake, Earl Sweatshirt, and redveil., showcasing his versatility and distinct sound.

Alongside his recorded work, Ovrkast. has established a strong touring presence, joining Saba on The Big Picture Tour, Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist on the Alfredo 2 Tour, and Earl Sweatshirt on the 3L World Tour.
